Jason M. Whalen

Jason Whalen is a business and litigation attorney with substantial experience in real estate transactions and real estate litigation, business and employment disputes and related commercial litigation, as well as serious personal injury matters.  Jason represents individual and corporate clients on real estate purchase and sale transactions, commercial leasing, property management and landlord/tenant issues, construction contract disputes, misrepresentation and boundary litigation.  With over two decades of litigation experience, coupled with his collaborative approach to problem solving, Jason also serves as an independent neutral for mediation or arbitration assignments in his areas of practice.  Prior to co-founding Ledger Square Law, Jason was a partner with Eisenhower & Carlson, PLLC.

  • He represents individual and corporate clients with emphasis on real estate purchases and sales transactions, commercial leasing, construction, contract disputes, misrepresentation, and boundary dispute litigation, as well as commercial and residential landlord/tenant issues.
  • He also provides representation to individuals and business owners, with emphasis on creditor’s rights, tort defense, and personal injury.
  • In addition, he possesses special expertise in alternative forms of dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.
  • Mr. Whalen’s involvement in community affairs is extensive and, in addition to the above-noted civic activities, he is a past Commissioner of the Pierce County Charter Review Commission, a former board member for the Lakewood Family YMCA and the Tacoma Chapter of the American Red Cross, and a current member of the American Inns of Court, Honorable Robert J. Bryan Chapter.
  • His prior affiliations include service as Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard P. Guy, Washington State Supreme Court, 1992-1993, and was an officer in the U.S. Army Field Artillery, 1985-1989.
  • He is admitted to practice in all Washington State Courts, as well as U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
